    Default Spanked my Shiney Hiney

and spanked it they did .....
started out all pretty and looking good
soon there after the paint was chipped something terribly on the jig head
probably from all the slam hammering off the roof of the dock is my thoughts
the good news is man they wanted it ....hard ,soft and in between were the bites
fast as heck were them devils , many times faster than old me ....
and then KER POW ! off the roof went said jig !
the bite was really soft for the most part and often times by the time i realized it was a take the fish would spit it before i could hit it .....
went no nibbles at first ,then went with them hoping to get a longer hold on the takes, still no dice
probably missed twice what i ketched , but sometimes it goes that way .
one really BIG fish went at it with me for a good bit .
it surface finally and i was pleasantly surprised as i was pretty sure during the struggle it was not a crappie .
of course my ding dong kicked in and i almost took a knee to land it ....
last second i thought NO ....just flip it up on the dock ....
DING DONG ....more paint gone off the jighead
numbers were down pretty bad at around 30 landed in an hour ...
but in the end it was just a lunch break and i was just playing ketchn
hopefully next go i tune it up a bit better ....
lost 2 different fish on top that were really photo worthy
and yes meanwhile down in Texas it is raining
5 foot down in 6 foot of water
darkest shaded areas were best ...go figure
    KABOOM is the word
p.s. .....also dropped another handtie or 2 for grins as well ....just saying

Short tails doesn't bother me to bad. Actually I tie most short as I feel sometimes they nip at the tail. I don't like really long tails.

I love Shiney Hineys, the older gent who taught me how to fish the Rez (RIP) handed me my ego with them 10 years ago. I have never been caught without Shiney Hiney jigs in my boat ever since...........as always, great post.

its been my pleasure over the years to snap rods setting the hook I must admit
one fella swears my feet leave the ground when I set the hook
its best to stand back when they are biting for sure
Ez will tell ya , slapping my buds with fish and such is quite normal for me
