    Default Line recommendation?

Can someone recommend a good line to put on my wife's zebco 11? It has 4 pound test, but I was hoping for some 6 pound that has a smaller diameter so it can still hold an acceptable amount. I know these lines exist, but i don't know what to look for. Thanks in advance, NRA

If you use six pound you will have shorter cast. I have had less trouble with Trilene XL. I have tried several and they just could not compare. CF

Boy, did you ask for it! Everybody always likes something different. I've got Zebco 11 T's on all of my long poles and I use 6lb Berkeley Vanish Transition line and Berkeley Trilene XL.

I really like Sufix Siege 6 pound in smoke green. The line diameter is .010", FYI.

The SOS 4Lb test is a new line that has everything you want low stretch, low memory, small diameter, and super strong, low cost $6.95 for 350 yard spool. The line is new and the name has not been spread around like Berkley, Stren and the big boy's, but it's a quality product
The ad below is for the 2lb test but they have 4lb test also.

If you want the absolute best line for a low cost get Sufix Promix. You could use the 4 lb test because the break weight is close to most lines 10lb test, and its very thin, limp and abrasion resistant as well. If you don't mind spending $9 for a 330 spool of line then Gamma would be your best bet. For a closed reel and their small spools you need the absolute limpest line you can find, and that is Gamma. Gamma is also as strong and as thin as sufix promix. Gamma is available at most big tackle shops, but the sufix promix is only availeable from www.bubbajackstackle.com as far as I know. I would suggest that you don't get Sufix's more widely distributed lines seige or elite. I am currently testing it and I don't see any difference between it and trilene XL. No comparison to the atributes of the Gamma and Promix.

If you still want to go with 6lb test, both of these lines have an amazing break weight with their 6 lb tests. I'm not precisely sure what the break weights are but I'd have to say their 6lb tests are both well over 10lb and maybe as much as 14. I have caught several 40 - 50 inch muskies on both the Promix and Gamma in 6 lb test as well as pulling many 5lb plus kicking fish up a 20 foot wall and never had a line break off. Both are amazing lines and by far the best I have used. I am about to strip off the Sufix elite I'm testing now and respooling from my Promix 1/4 spool of 6lb.
Good things come to those who bait.
