    Default Minnow trap bait

Just curious, for those of you who catch your own minnows, what is your favorite or best bait for the minnow trap. My go to is a mustard and ketchup sandwich ripped into small pieces. I’ve also used dog food or old lunch meat. Just curious what everyone else is using

Good idea...I need to look for a spot. The closest place to buy minnows is about 45 min away.

We used to use a canned biscuit, just put in a microwave for a few seconds to toughen it up. Hang it in the middle of the trap so they can't get to it without going through the cone. Hope this helps.

Spread peanut butter on your bread or biskets. The peanut butter makes a oil slick in the water and the minnows just follow it in. Works great!

I always got a quart ziplock back, fill it a 1/4 way with dog food then roll the bag up and put a zip tie on it. Then poke a couple of holes in it with a pocket knife. The food would last longer.
