I use that rig on Brownlee a lot. For deep water I put a split shot between the hooks. Get quite a few doubles.
So I've been using double jig rig, and was thinking about only using one jig head for the bottom jig and putting the top jig on a plain hook. Anyone ever try this, and if so how'd it work out for you? What about putting a streamer or wet fly of some sort in the top slot??

I like to put a feather jib on the bottom (like a marabou) and then a live bait hook minnow on top. The flickering of the live bait minnow will give the bottom jig hair/feather subtle movement.
I use that rig allot. I use it kinda like a drop shot. I'll use a #6 mosquito hook on the top and nose hook a live minnow or a plastic like a baby shad. I space them about 2' apart. I also use a standard drop shot rig with double hooks or jigs also depending on the current I'm fishing and how deep the fish are.

I fish 4 poles with a jig on the bottom of two rods and a plain hook on the bottom of the other two . The top hooks are opposite from what is on bottom . All hooks/jigs are on Fas-snaps. That way you can switch all to plain or jigs in a minute . You can also use jigs on a plain hook as well as jig heads .
