Well I am going to test my UV stuff again tomorrow.

Found all manner of tackle here at the house what already been treated with UV enhancement. Who knew ? Like a standard almost. I mean if you are opposed to using UV enhanced products, due to belief or practice, you would do well to buy a real UV light source and check everything because I am telling you it is in everything. Many lures contain these and there is no mention of it in the description.

Makes me wonder why someone would add something special into something they know someone is purchasing for a very specific task....and not bother to mention to them that the item contains this particular enhancement. Scents are usually mentioned, but I looked at the descriptions for many of the things that I have purchased, and nothing about the enhancements that my light is proving to be present.

If it was not for me being able to see UV light colors when science says I absolutely cannot.....well it wouldn’t be of much interest really. The fact that I can see my sinkers and lures and dishes glow in low light conditions without aid of an artificial UV light....means this is not all that well understood. I have shown you pictures and you should see things glowing, reflecting UV light, something science says is invisible to you. We can easily see UV light, we just have to have all the other sources of light back off a little- is all.

This means that all of us should be interested in this stuff, because it is in lots of stuff and it is natural, and we see it even if we don’t notice it, and it has been around a really long time and if the Moon can have an effect on fish, this can have an effect on fish, and I intend to exam it further. Again comments can be made, but experiences are what I am most interested in. What do you know ?
Maybe they will bite this one……

This evening we are having some light shower activity. Intermittent sprinkles. Anyways....standing outside everything looks a little different. The trees are definitely of a different appearance than what is seen in full light.

The visible light at this point is being reduced because of all the suspended media it must travel through ( clouds with water vapor ). The visible light is reduced because of the clouds and that is what is allowing the UV light to be noticed. I have seen this affect my entire life but never really considered what was occurring or how it might affect me. I have seen leaves “glow” like this for years, but didn’t understand what was actually happening. What I was actually seeing. What other creatures might be seeing.

If tomorrow I catch my usual six fish, it will not be enough to convince me that UV enhancement either aids or hinders. I just think that being able to see a bait is better than simply hearing or smelling or feeling that bait. That if UV light is causing leaves and objects to glow because clouds are limiting visible light, that that somehow matters when we fish on cloudy days. That if UV can so easily better penetrate through the clouds, filled with water vapor, than visible light, that UV will definitely penetrate deeper into the water when each are of an equal availability. Penetrate better in clear and dirty algae filled waters is what interests me.

Maybe UV sinkers and jigs and lures and such actually work to scare the little devils. What do you know ?
