Crappie Maxx is good line, at one time it was the same as Mr. Crappie, not sure if it still is. Very cheap and tough.

Hey Gene...long time no see. You still hanging around the orange grove? I'd like to head back to Louisiana and Bayou Corne maybe this year. Hope all is well with you.

I love the crappie maxx yellow 4lb, its very good line. The 6lb was a little wiry for me.. but it was also in the camo color, I have a new spool of 6 in yellow waiting to be tested. BPS had it for $5 a spool on their big crappie sale this spring, I stocked up.

Nope, no more access to Orange Grove. Some body bought or leased the entrance to it and won't allow anyone to go in. I've been fishing a little further down the Intracoastal to places like 70 mile canal and the Copasaw area.

How you been, is the fishing any good up there. It's been hit and miss for me. Linda, my wife and fishing partner, has been sidelined for the last 2 1/2 years with a broken arm and wrist problem, plus surgery to her rotator cuff on the other arm. We are just getting back into fishing a little.

I might take a cruse to Bayou Corne myself to see some new sites.
    Take care,

Blocked the Orange Grove??? That's down right un-American!
Sorry to hear about Linda, hope she gets back to fishing soon.
I didn't fish much last year...but I intend to change that this year!
Let me know if you go to Bayou Corne...I miss my old stomping ground.

    You guys take care,
    Gary

Just FYI, I’ve used the BPS store brand called Offshore Angler Tight Lines stuff for o er ten years with great results. Hi vis or clear, good strength and no memory issues for me. I’ve used from 4 to 10 lb and it’s in 1/4lb spools for under $10 the last I bought. If there’s a 4lb mono rig in my boat, that’s what’s on it. Something like 4000 yards of 4 lb on a spool. The 6lb is on all of my longline poles and I have a spool of 8lb for when I used to troll cranks. Just plain good stuff for the money.

Grizzly was out of 4 lb hi vis. I left it on back order for 2 weeks. I will try some of your suggestions if not available by then. We still have 2 or 3 weeks before ice out.

Yes is great hearing from you Gary and if I head to Bayou Corne I will let you know. I've only fished it a couple of times and the last time was right before the sink hole appeared. I rather fish closer to home but sometimes you just got to travel. Why don't you come down and vacation. I know you would enjoy that.
