Thank you for the response. I know a few years ago Matzuo had the same issue. A few of us contacted Robert, and he did a little research. Turns out it was a bad batch and we all got a replacement between certain dates. Haven't had any more issues since. So far the eagles have been good. They are not as sharp, but I do like the barb better. And they are sharper than the regular hooks used to be. Guess I'll pour a few up and see what happens...Thanks again.

Can't say when my supply of closeout hooks will run out but Mustad is where I will be replenishing my stash.
We use the little nasty bronze without any problems. The Black nickel in any brand has been a problem for me, like you said they break at the bend!

Been using the Mustad since it came out, sharper, better barb and never broken one yet. Eyes are also better.

I had a couple thousand Matzuo's that would break on the bend inside the jig head - They were replaced and I've done a yank test on all of them. I haven't had any problems with the Lil Nasties! Maybe you just got a bad batch it is known to happen. Haven't tried the Mustad ones yet, and I have some samples of Victory Hooks coming to try out.

Could be a bad batch, the black nickel are the only ones I bought. They work fine till they break so until I run out they will continue to be used in more open fishing areas. Fish are not breaking the hooks.
