Thanks for the link. I can’t use pistol grip rods, must be straight handle so they will fit in my rocket launcher rod holders.

I know you said mid-priced and my suggestion doesn't fit that, so I may be wasting your time (I hope not). Walmart sells a Shakespeare rod named "DURANGO". The thing is all of 10 bucks including tax. It is 6'6" and says it's a medium light action, but the tip is a noodle. The tip of the rod bends with just a 1/16 ounce jig. They sell it in both a straight grip casting version and a spinning version. I've used them for years. They're my favorite vertical jigging rod. I don't remember ever breaking one other than loosing an eye insert once in awhile. They also make a medium action that I use for longlining. I bought 12 of them today just to put up in case they stop making them. Just thought I'd plant a seed.
yeah the durango line is good for cheap ...i give them to kids all the time on birthdays ....
durable and dependable ....

If you take the info off the rod and try it through Ebay you may find another one. Even searching the web you may also find one

Hard rod to find in that action and handle. If you find a rod you like but it has the trigger you could grind it off and file it smooth. A catfishing client gave me an Ugly Stick GX2 several years ago and it's been a good rod in your price range but the lightest casting rod action is medium-light.
I have one of the Shakespeare 5 1/2 ft Micro series on the way. Being a multi-species fisherman I really enjoy baitcasting reels. I have two reels that will throw a 1/16 oz crappie jig, or Ned rig a mile with the right rod. I have two rods that fit the bill now but not going to id them till I can buy a couple more for spares next week. About $60 each. 1/32 is a little too light for them with baitcast reels but a good spincast could probably work well.

Maybe Daiwa spinmatic could do, it is very parabolic rod and should be able to cast 1/16oz jig head very well. I have this in 7’. Another option in my head would be Shimano Sensilite but I never use this rod in casting not sure how it will cast though.
