Great advice from all. Only thing I could add is this- if it sounds or feels unusual or different, stop and check out your boat. Rope in water, fishing line around prop, or even water sounds from stern are not good!
Don’t make any modifications for a while. Drilling holes and such is best done after some time has passed.
Trust the GPS even if you remember exactly where something is.
Be courteous and patient with others.
Wear that vest.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I hardly ever post on here but read a lot. I must recommend that you check the lower unit for gear oil and if it is a four stoke check the engine oil. Only trust them if you saw them put the lower unit lube in. Don’ ask why I am concerned. It can save a bunch of trouble.
Good luck and dirty it up with a bunch of fish!
Take a boating safety course.
Get yourself a wearable pfd.
Remember the plug
Always hook the bow line to the trailer before launching

Just an added note; my plug goes in at the house when I’m beginning my system. Also touch the starter and make sure things sound like they’re going to work as planned. Don’t start or spin, just touch. Too many stories of backing the boat off, turning the key, and nothing........a very bad feeling. What was just said, listen to your gut. When you get the feeling that something isn’t right, or you’ve forgotten something, start from the beginning and go over your mental list. It becomes habit after a while, and this is a smart habit.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I have basically the same boat. I have to be extremely careful backing down the ramp. If I unhook everything the boat will slide right off the trailer. Keep the bow hook on until you reach water and launch.
