I really like these. They're all I use anymore.

When set up with the right amount of weight, they'll show any kind of bite.

An (unweighted) slip float will show a " up-bite " on the float.

The only thing I don't like about those is, they flop and spin around too much, I find that annoying.

IMO, small price to pay for:

    1) Superior bite detection
    2) Increased casting distance
    3) Ability to rig as fixed or slip

    YMMV

Pegged for more natural fall and action.

True, years ago I would use a porcupine quill, and sandwich the medal loop between two spit shots to lock it in place. And only enough shot for just the tip to show...very sensitive.

But, with a slip float, you cast into nooks and cranny that a pegged float can't. Also if you slowly crank reel handle back to you, it will achieve the same pendulum action as a pegged float .

Agreed. And sometimes I just do a cast and retrieve and slip bobbers and the one touch ones just don’t do right.

Slip float for me. Easy to throw and gives a great action when bumping it back in. plus no depth problem.
