I use 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4oz jig heads depending on how I am fishing . Only use #1 and #2 eagle claw bronze hooks....Mainly use 1/16 oz and #1 hook and if i am fishing brush I will drop down to #2 hook. Everything with a round head..

CRAPPIE USA CLASSIC WINNER 2018
1) Round head--- Generalist, good for everything
2) Minnow Head--- If you have current or wind action, it will swing faster to face the current.
3) pill head--- sort of a cross between 1 and 2. doesn't offer me any advantages, IMO. Easier for jigmaker to put eyes on them.
4) darterhead--- longer distance to hookeye, makes it easier to rock over limbs and such. Has a different action when it hits straight down vs others above (ie more pronounced)
5) ponyhead--- I rarely single pole these but the taller head helps keep the jig tail horizontal when trolled, ie it counteracts the lifting of the spoon.
1 and 5 and crappie magnet dart heads in 1/64 .
They work with an assortment of microplastics....including the BG Baby shad. Unfortunately due to Covid no one has them in stock. I get several emails from my youtube channel every week of folks wanting to to buy more as they have used them and are out. I wish I could be of more help.
Regards
where can you get some good weedless jigheads. I dont care for the ones with numerous plastic pieces as the guard. I have used them cutting most of them off. I found some with a single wire strand that I really liked. Out and do not remember where I got them.
I have bought from Simply Crappie (bugman here at cdc) before and always had great service and product.
I use # 1 and # 5. I pour my own and usually in the ball head I only pour 1/16 and 1/32 oz heads with a # 2,4,or 6 hook.
basically the same thing with the pony heads except I do pour some heavier weights also and use a #1 hook to bass fish with.
