I use the same reels, St Croix poles, and swimbaits for Crappie, 'Eyes, and Bass!

I use all kinds of reels for all kinds of tactics but my go-to reel for gills and Redears is a Zebco Z02 because of its 3/1 gear ratio. Can’t fish too slow sometimes.

Spinning only for crappie. An underhand reel just seems more natural to me, and you get a better grip on the rod, helps with sensitivity.

I use a casting rig occasionally for jerkbaits and big swimbaits, but not purposefully for crappie, although I seem to catch more than you would think on 3" Keitechs.

Spincast (push button) and spinning reels for light lures - both with braid. Catch all fish species. Jig weights between 1/32 - 1/16 oz. - good distance casts.
