The lake has been a little high lately due to rain. I'm afraid the water will be a little hard for the next week to ten days due to the below average temps we have now (not above freezing for a week). Once it thaws, it will be fine. Some say the fishing is dead but that's because you don't catch 200/day of the small fish like we use to. Now there's quality over quantity. There's fish in there, it just takes some effort. As for the above mentioned carp, they have not hurt that lake. The crappie have adjusted just fine. If you have an aluminum boat, I'd go the extra mile to protect anything in it in case one of those carp land in the boat. They are good at breaking rods.
