Default Some days the Fish are.....

All up under the boat and you can even see them with a cheap graph .
Some days you might set it on 2 d just to get a little color on the screen .
or maybe just maybe them open water fish need depth markers on them .
because just maybe the larger fish marks are relative to the depth you need to put your bait .
now of course it isnt always easy to ketch said open water crappie in the dead of winter.
but IF you dangle the jig just right and can avoid them little fellas all down there .
you might just ketch you some of the larger versions .
    i said might ....
and yes KABOOM is the word btw
on a side note : that is NOT a brush pile in this image , just a monster school of deep water shad

Isn’t that interesting. Life vest under the coat.

You can give a man a LiveScope thingie, and he will sit and stare at the screen all day. You can give a man one of these and he will just glance over at the screen every so often. Hmmmmm.....
Maybe they will bite this one……

I actually watched that little graph a bit to coordinate what depth i wanted to hold my jig , active fish like those move around a lot in the water column .....
sometimes they would drop to almost the bottom and next peek there they were 10 foot down
as far as my life jacket it was on top of my regular jacket as I remember ,,,,

Some days the crappie are underneath the big boats next to your slips and you can't get a jig to them. Livescope shows where the fish are but if you can't reach them, you can't catch them.

You have your slips loaded with all sorts of crappie condos for them to use but they ignore the homes you provide for them and suspend underneath the big boats that are totally devoid of any cover.

Livescope makes it even more frustrating since you can see them but not touch them.

I will make sure we practice social distancing. But it will need to wait till it warms up. My mind wants to go fishing every day but when my body steps outside and feels the cold, it says " " and rushes back inside.

I wondered why people have always practiced social distancing around me , and I knew some day there would be a good explanation ......
the 6 foot rule is applicable since thats my favorite rod length , it has all become perfectly clear to me now
