Default 1rst Gen Helix 10 SI bit the dust. Replacement???

Looking for options to consider in replacing the Helix 10.

I run a Garmin 106 SV and Live scope at the bow networked to a 93 SV/GT56 at the console/transom.

The Helix 10 was networked to an Ultrex I/pilot link for setting up on way points.

I don't know how the side imaging and sonar on the latest generation of Helix units compare to the Garmin units. I do like the way the Garmin units function and considered networking a Garmin at the bow with the other Garmin units for sonar and mapping.

Having the ability to see those waypoints on the Hbird map and using the remote to navigate and set up on them was useful... Just don't know if I would miss that feature.

What am I overlooking to make an informed decision?

Give Russell Marine products a call 316 313 4113. They sell used hummingbird unit fairly cheap that would work great for networking to your ultrex. I would have a hard time giving mine up since I run my trolling motor off my birds and put the remote in the glove box. Name: Screenshot_20240401-172714.jpg

@Jerry L, my view in answering your question:
*Garmin: Mapping is better than Humminbird
*Garmin: Units more stable in regards to mother boards & longevity
*Humminbird: Clarity for Mega Side Imaging cleaner than Garmin (Garmin has gotten better.)
*Humminbird: Clarity for Mega Down Imaging cleaner than Garmin (Garmin has gotten better.)
*Humminbird: Links with Minn Kota Interface Equipment like your Ultrex (Garmin is Garmin)
*Humminbird & Garmin both have great customer service when it comes down to it. Humminbird has a 5 Day Fix back to you when they receive your graph at a flat rate based on size & model of your unit. "When it is Returned it is fixed or replaced". Tie to me because Garmin is good also.
*If you get the Garmin Quick Connect Graph you better be prepared for it "possibly" flying off when you thought it was snug.
*Garmin and LiveScope are just Superior in regards to Forward Facing Technology like Active Target, & Humminbird Mega Live when it comes to separation & contrasting targets but even then the other 2 have selling points.
*Major thing I can say Garmin has on the market is their seamless networking where you can view any screen from any unit anywhere in the boat on any screen.
Garmin has phone capability & recording on GPSMapping Graphs called Active Captain & they Blow Hummingbird away without breaking a sweat. Why? because you can only record on Humminbird Graphs & View it on THE SAME GRAPH. They don't have data to convert your files to play ANYWHERE ELSE but for a short time they use to Humviewer but Not anymore. Who wants to fish all day and then go sit in a garage on a open top boat to view footage while paying $2k-$5k for a graph?
*Humminbird has it for me when it comes to definition & clarity along with networking with Minn Kota but Garmin who use to be a joke has CLOSED THE GAP TREMENDOUSLY.

Where do I get this info from? Owning over 12 Graphs combined since 2007 with Garmin & Humminbird combined & switching to have them both. Garmin up front for LiveScope & Humminbird at the Helm. I would say if you go with Humminbird the Helix is more reliable than the Solix but I'm a Touchscreen Guy. Solix takes a long time to load up though, they eat up some battery, & the motherboards go out but it's a mean product when it's working. Answering to possibly save you some money & time if possible. Because Jerry L, I've spent enough for both of us.

@Jerry L.... You can actually get your same unit repaired for less if you like. Humminbird Service is ZERO Joke. Option for you is to send your unit to them so they receive it by Friday of this week and you will have that Joker back by Thursday/Friday of the next week fixed with every issue you had in the past like NEW!!! Make sure if you send it back you like every nuance/issue you have so the knock it out for one set flat fee. Pic attached and the website is for them is Just a moment... Hope this helps & this way you have a product you already know with all the new updates vs buying something that could need something done that you are foreign to.. [QUOTE=UnLikeU;4443598]@Jerry L.... Make sure if you send it back you "LIST"(EDIT) vs "like" every nuance/issue you have so the knock it out for one set flat fee.

@Jerry, I just realized the typo. Sorry. You would need to List the issues you want them to fix. Like latest update, won't turn on, etc.. If you chose to go the repair route. Best to you regardless.
