Ok, let's say that your in the winter (surface water temp around 40 - 45), in about 20 - 25 feet of water and the crappie are suspended around 18 - 23 feet of water. How do you work your jigs? Do you move your jig much? Cast and retrieve? or does it more depend on whatever they like that day?

Because all iv been doing is dropping my jig down with some scent on it with not much movement, and this gets bites but not as much as I thought I would consitering the amount of crappie beneath me. Is that just winter or should I be varying my jig speeds/jig movement/ ect.

Thanks everyone and hpapy new year!
