Deleting private messages

This may be a stupid question but how do you delete private messages? I don't see a delete button or link.

Do you see the box in upper right corner? Click on it, then go to bottom right to selected messages, and click it, and options come up, one being delete, click it , then go to next box and click it also. Then they are gone.

Or click on a bunch of them and when you hit the delete option, they all go away.
