Exactly. The pic of him holding him up shows the scale and size well. Harder to see the true monster it is laying on the ruler, but you get idea! Caught a 17” black last year and this ones bigger. What a big big monster crappie!
Nice!
Woo doggie what a slab!

Those over 3's are easy to pick out...... They for sure have a different body structure when they get that big......
I vote black. Very similar to one I caught a couple years back. It was 3.14 and right at 18" as well. Watched him swim away...
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me"
Wear that PFD, the life you save might be your own!!
Its hard to tell, sometimes even biologists have a hard time just looking at pictures. I sent some pictures of some to our biologists once and they said on top of white, black, hybrid there are fish that might even be third or fourth generation hybrids making it even more difficult to classify. I will see if I saved the email and post the text and pictures if I still have it.
That said all the pictures posted in this thread appear to be hybrids to me. Generally the hybrids tend to be some of the biggest fish on bodies of water they exist.
