    Default Still reels

Anyone ever heard of still reels of Toledo Ohio?I was at my brother in laws today and we were in his garage. His father in law had given him a bunch of old rod and reels. There were a couple of those. They were on telescopic hollow rods. They don’t have eyelets, the line goes through the hollow rod. He gave me one on a 10 ft pole. Just wondered if they are any good and worth cleaning up and trying.

Never heard of them. But it's say it's for sure worth a try.

I have used them before mainly for fishing with bobber/minnows. My father had several of them back in the day. Have not seen them for awhile now. I remember that threading the line through the pole was a pain especially if you lose the threading wire that came with the reels. Good .
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!

First post , great site , when I lived in Wisconsin I had several ice fishing rods that looked exactly like that but much shorter , and you are right lose the threading wire and no fishing . It seemed like there was a lot of drag on the line because of it being on the inside of the rod

If you are at home they are easy thread. Pull enough mono out to go through the whole rod and start it in the hole above the reel. Start your vacuum cleaner and suck the end out of the tip. They are not meant to be cast, just like a cane pole.
