How do you know what style of jig to put on?

Change till the fish tell you what they want but that could change at anytime during the day. I always keep a record of what I caught them on every time I go fishing. Been keeping records for the last twelve years. I can look back at my records and get info for the waters I am fishing. Most times it pays off.

This works. And it’ll help you track fish movements from season to season

If I haven't fished in few months I'll usually fish different color jigs on two poles at the same time. It's awkward but in a little while you'll see which one the fish favor and go from there.

If I'm not catching fish, I'm always changing something until I am catching fish. Depth, color presentation, speed, eventually I'll figure out what they want today.
