Ball peen Hammer time

You all well know how a good rap with a ball peen hammer feels I am pretty sure .
Well imagine a fish hitting your jig with one and how that feels up on the other end in your hand .
That is how the bite was yesterday ,along with the hit and run version mixed in here and there .
Some hit it like a channel cat and ran off in that trying to rip the rod out of your hand style .
The rest of the fish just hit it like they had a ball peen hammer .
Man I like a nice strong fall bite
for whatever reason lots of contrast was best and solid colors were not as well liked .
fish were best in less than 10 feet of water all around whatever cover was available .
needed a light jacket early at 50 outside and was still wearing it when I left at 10 am , started at 8 am and EVEN got bit right on the dock before we got in the boat in 6 foot of water !
yes we had a box full when we left as well .
KABOOM is the word yawl

Yes sir, sounds like a great time. Been under the weather a bit myself. Caught a bug of some kind, and for sure not the Covid. Better this morning for sure, and no fever for 36 hrs. Maybe I’ll see if I can stretch a line on a couple...congrats and “KABOOM” is the word!!!

Were all of the ones with the white body caught in the lips and the orange bodies caught deeper in the mouth? From the ones you've posted, it seems like they liked the orange bodies better.

Seems like they really wanted to eat that orange one hard , it was a bit larger
