    funny you said daiwa, i have a few, but my latest last month was the highly rated Daiwa 2500 Fuego spinning reel, 100 bucks, my wife's wally marshall wsp 75 is MUCH smoother 30 bucks, but i know how durable can it be for 30 bucks, have to find out, i would never buy another Fuego spinning reel, i have some other Daiwas bg series and they are heavier but as smooth as the wally marshall

    The cheaper reels are built to be disposable. I have an older model Fuego that's 10-15 years old. Still smooth as the day I bought it.
