Any tips on shore crappie? Particularly in rivers but I’ll take any advice I can get

Look for anything that creates a current break or eddy.
If the water level is low look for deeper holes. Sometimes found on the outside of bends. Try using jigs under a float because the current can carry your bait to the eddies that crappie pappy mentioned above.

find some docks where you can get permission to fish and work all around till you find where they are. even the docks next to a ramp where you get into your boat can be outstanding if not much cover anywhere else around. IF you have lots of other guys fishing from rocks or shore pay attention to where they are fishing and go there when they are not. ASK the ones who are as most fisherfolk like to share information. That's how I figured out my home lake was targeting guys I saw were successful and simply going up and saying Hey I'm a delbert and need to learn.

I personally use a slip float and will cast it into shady areas or structure. I let the current take it to the crappies and use a soft plastic that imitates a minnow. Put some "Slab Sauce" or "G" sauce on your lure and you should catch your dinner.

Watch some Richard Gene videos. He has several fishing from shoreline and stalking crappie.
