I will try to pay closer attention in the future to see if I spot more of them . they picked a great spot to live if they eat as many fish as I have heard they do .
the numbers of crappie in that lake defy imagination .

I have watched a pack of 4 move down the bank on a lake I fish regularly.
    They are fish catching machines!!

Went to Tennessee aquarium A month or so back and they had 3 or 4 otters in there river exhibit. They were by far the most entertaining thing there. Me and wife sat there and watched them for a good 30 min. If your ever in chatahochee you need to give that place a visit

We have plenty of them here, and they are huge, hopefully good balance can be maintained, those things can eat some fish, I saw one eating a 5# channel cat, could have stolen it, don't know.

had a awful beaver problem with my last wife families lake as they kept breeding and damning up the spillway but worse dropping trees on lake house and even chewing plastic on my two man boat!

have seen video's of otters on a trout stream and they can decimate an area in a short while

Was told that was what depleted our catfish pond . Had a 7 acre lake with 3 yr. old catfish (fed daily during summer )that fish just disappeared . Thought it was the hot weather keeping them from feeding . Never did see evidence of fish bones in the slides (pretty much like beaver slides ). Finally saw one swim the lake ,just under the surface , looked like an old war movie torpedo just under the surface . Thought local warden/biologist was kidding but he was convinced as they knew the area creeks have them . Great fast swimmers for sure .

i mentioned that otter to a couple who were fishing in that area last week and they saw it as well .
interesting for sure , they seemed to think he was trying to bum a fish from them too
i suppose he is why work type ,when the locals will give you food stamps ....right ?
if he starts looking for free medical and low cost housing there may be a problem
