I'm also not a fan of the Sickle-type hooks. I find them much more difficult to thread plastics on straight and I have have one break on me. JMO.

I like the double silver rainbow in the old whatever its called standard body style and sometimes the blue ice is a killer as well .
they also have a color that I dont know the name of and it looks very much like a real shad with a tint of purple in the pearl on the belly that is flat out good stuff .
and the bleeding shad has its moments in the winter arsenal as well .

My main patterns for the 2" Baby shads are pearlwhite and black with an occasional Tennessee shad. I have also caught a few on Cajun cricket (but that is a far better pattern for 1.5" tubes where it is almost as good as anything else you could try) and Electric Chicken. I always start out with the white. Also everything on black jig heads with no eyes with the 2" baby shads that would be 1/32 oz. I find I have never needed any other color; so I buy unpainted and powder paint my own. A good bake on the powder paint stands up as well as any other finish I have tried. The 2" Baby Shads match up real well with a size 6 hook.

Great info guys, keep it coming ... always interested in seeing what others are having success with.

The waters I fish are moderately stained for the most part.

I just placed an order for some BGBS's in Pearl/Chart - Pink Pearl - BBQ Chicken - Mo Glo' screamer (blue/green flake) & Chart / Red glitter looking forward to seeing how these will work. Also found a couple of Shimano Sienna 1000 FG's that I've been looking for. Waiting on the big brown truck
