Default Rod Holder suggestions for jon boat

I have an older model 14 ' Loweline jon boat with rounded sides. I`d like to install a few rod holders on the sides for trolling. Any suggestions on how I can rig some holders on my boat? Not crazy about drilling a bunch of holes in the side of the boat.

    Thanks

The Scotty's (multiple) are nice for Jonboats as well as the Atwoods or Driftmasters; either will do and are inexpensive.

I have a similar boat and thus the same problem. An after market t-trac for accessories would be awesome but I'm not aware of any thing that you don't have to totally diy.

There are a whole host of "clamp-on" rod holders. South Bend makes one that sells for < $5/ea. (Walmart price).

Does your boat have tracks . If so I mounted Cabala's (Scotty style )Holders , to duck blind brackets .Name: 20200812_073103.jpg

2" aluminum angle from Lowes or Home Depot. You get an 8 ft piece for about $30. I use it to make all kinds of brackets for stuff on my boat - rod holders, depth finder, bimini, radio, etc.

My boat has a vertical track, so I use that to fasten smaller cut sections to the sides of the boat. If I had rounded sides like yours, I would mount larger sections to the side to reduce the number of holes to drill in the gunnel. I would think a 2 ft piece on one side of the boat with 3 bolts, and then another on the other side with 3 bolts would be plenty...that's 6 holes total.

Not sure of your gunnel configuration, but I installed 4 of these Scottys on our 12' open V hull and it has worked out just fine. Needed to fabricate some spacer plates for added support, but we've used these for 3 seasons now with no problems whatever. This is what they look like and how they are mounted:
