Aqua Innovator
Don't know why the minnows died? If I had to guess I would say it was too much Oxygen. Air pumps just pump air, The Innovator breaks down H20 into oxygen and hydrogen by electrolisis(sp). The oxygen bubbles are very small which allows more oxygen to be saturated in the water. Aqua Innovations has a web site and also a toll free #. Call them. Sorry don't have the number but do a search and you will find it.

I had one for a while and it did not seem to work nearly as well as a bubble aerator.

thanks for the replies. I won't mess with 'em then. I don't think you could OVER oxygenate the water. When I worked as a fish biologist, we bubbled in pure oxygen in a tank of walleyes. what kills the minnows is the ammonia buildup in the water. You could try dropping in a charcoal pack from an aquarium filter to help with that.
I'm thinking about trying a $20 cigarette lighter plug power inverter and running an aquarium air pump off of that. They make a lot more bubbles and are much quieter than the D battery units.
thanks
Joe
