I use #10 snap swivels on my trolling crankbaits but strictly to help prevent line twist. Everything else I use knots tied directly to the baits.

HI Folks -- this might be an untouchable topic, but here it goes
Ive been using snap swivels to give myself ease of changing bait, some have suggested that maybe I need to avoid them -- I did try without for a while on Monday, so I would like you guys input -- I use jigs, spinners and some plugs
Thanks
TIM

Do you happen to have directions for a loop knot? thats one I have not seen

Plenty of "how to" videos out there, but simply put :
run line thru eye about 1ft
pinch tag end to main line
loop the doubled line around finger
pass bait thru that loop 3 times
pinch knot lightly and pull doubled line tight until knot tightens
(Just do step #2 three times, rather than the one time shown in this pic):

Yes,... tiny ones, no swivel, just the snap, they're great for trying out different kinds of lures.

I use snap #00 but without swivel with pretty good success with jig both casting and under bobbers. I also use the same snap with trout magnet as well.
Picture is trimmed crappie magnet on 1 gram jig head #6 hook for bluegill.

Since learning to tie a loop kot watching Richard Gene, I have not used a swivel...
