Well done
Now, there are some, and maybe many, that might suggest I am not qualified to teach a couple of young men how to crappie fish. All I know is the 12 yr old and his 10 hr old brother are knocking down some awesome slabs. Course, I locate a favorite brush pile, hit spot lock, focus with LiveScope and teach them how to place the jig right at the top of the pile. Kaboom, as Ketchn says, and they are hollaring with excitement. More fun for me then if I held the rod! Get to talk about crappie, hook sets, holding still, watching the rod after seeing the fish move to jig on LiveScope, troubles in school not opening, shelter in place, Jesus and what He did for me, how to net fish, and lots more. What a blast. Had the celebratory fish fry with them, two sisters, Mom and Pop along with me and my wife. Congratulated the young men on their prowess and everyone ate crisp outside, tender inside, fried crappie along with crinkle cut potatoes and home made hush puppies. What an awesome culmination to the past three weeks of fishing with someone that had their eyes opened and the love of crappie fishing firmly established.
