Brad, up until about 3 years ago, I might have been one of the "anti-trollers" that has a problem with multi-pole fishing. But after we started fishing the tournaments on Grenada with Crappie USA, we learned quickly that if you wanted to "keep up with the big dogs", you'd better get more than one hook in the water. Again, I single-pole fished for many years, and love to feel that "snatch". But this summer, when most of the "anti-trollers" have hung up their one pole, partner and I will be fishing in that tough-time with 6 poles learning more and more about what's under the water!! As far as the cost of getting set up like you want, it can get in your wallet and take a while to get there. But, you'll find it's worth it. Like I said, it's got it's place. Read all you can about it.........there's a jillion different "little things" that can make a lot of difference when spider rigging. It's fun and relaxing.......and I need all of that I can get
Good Luck
