A sad deal. Many of us had an evinrude as their first and always a trusted motor. For me, they will be missed.

Yeh..I loved them in the 60s and 70s Stopped buying them for awhile when they went to an electric shift in the early 70s. Had a few more good ones in the 80s.
I have an '80 model 100hp that still runs great, found out it was designed as a commercial engine.

In 1959 we had twin 35hp Evinrudes on a 17’ cabin cruiser. The “purr” of those twins carried us on many, many weekend family excursions. Evinrude is all my brother has ever had on his boats. I’ve owned several Merc’s and Johnson’s, but hate the loss of such a quality outboard option.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
Not good, especially from a competition standpoint. I really like the look of the G2'S. Some of the color options, really make the boat pop .
Had an Evinrude on my first boat.
Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
our little 25 Evinrude from many years ago sure did a good job .
it pushed the 16 foot wood boat right well .
I actually had a homemade boogie board my dad pulled me on in the big Lehigh river with it .
I even got to take it out myself sometimes in the bay at ocean city
sure did ketch a lot of fish out of it ….
what a trooper it was

Hate to see the loss of a engine manufacturer as it will drive the price of the other engine companies prices up especially Mercury as the demand will now exceed the supply. The loss of Evinrude also puts into question the owners of Evinrude and their 10 yr warantees. Less competition is not a good thing as we also loose a US manufacturer.
