I saw the video about using the dental floss . I made up a couple of boxes last week , Went fishing
Sunday with Step son , We caught 35 , I used the same soft plastic all day. It even held up to a blue cat chewing on it.

I am most impressed. I tie a few jigs , so I have a vise. This makes it really easy to wrap the shanks. I used dental
floss and tying thread, Both worked great.. I don't think I will ever go back to any other method.

    good luck

Yeah I rig the same way too, but like I mentioned it has to be done with super glue (pre-rig). I don’t mind pre-rigging jig but it just a tad harder to switch color or bait type at night. I have a few small boxes of those as well.

I use tubes only and use insert style jig heads . Put tube on through the rear of tube and pop eye through . Works for me . I did try rattles once . Some companies sell rattle built in . You can add a rattle to jig heads . Place shrink tube on shaft of jig hook , insert small rattles and apply heat to hold it in .

Good idea, I have done it with bass but never with crappie. Too bad I only have 2 rattles left and it might be a little too big for small tube. Anyway I’ve already done pre-rigging two color tube, one that I know works and one that doesn’t work much, will see what happen this evening.

I will give this a try before I toss another bait that's slipping down. I have a good supply of 24 ga coated wire.

    You won't be sorry.
Tip: when judging wire length, the one end should be close to the curve of the hook - the section that will be bent into an L shape. This way you don't have to worry the wire will be too short once the L is formed and have to be inserted too far forward.
Tip: Just be sure the wire is coated or rust might happen and color the plastic.

It seems that smaller hooks (ie #8) need the grub grip less, but I add it anyway.

Regarding Spoonminnow's method, that wire is often called "floral wire" or "florist wire". That looks interesting.

Can you tell a difference using rattles?
