    Only female mosquitoes bite. Tell them their sister is cuter. They will leave you alone.

    All kidding aside, the Mosquito is the deadliest creature on earth. Wear whatever works for you, but at least wear repellent of some kind. If you don't like deet, try Natrapel. Its works well

    It would also depend on the concentration of the chemical in the air, and duration that the fish is exposed. Holding the fish 2 inches from the chemical, for ten minutes would be a lot worse than 30 seconds in the open outdoors.
