Maybe find something they don't like smelling that we can't detect??? Like maybe Panther urine or something along that line...
Thanks for the tip on the nose piece. I'm hoping to get the deck and this part done this month, and get a battery, maybe two, and hook them up in parallel (?),(pos. to pos. and neg. to neg.) to maintain the 12v, but give me longer run time.... and a 17 gal. live well right there too. just have to see when I get the tote's as to where they going to be...

For voles, I used a product called repelsall. It comes in spray (mixed) or gallons. I'd research it to make sure it works on cats.
For the batteries, play with placement, for proper weight distribution.

On top of this build, I'm adding electric start to the '61 18hp outboard. I have the parts located and if they'll send those stimulus checks before I get my Disability check I'll have that done before the end of the month. Mean while I'm trying to decide how I want to do the floor. This is an old boat with skegs riveted to the bottom of the hull and the ribs are flush on the inside. Also want to cut the center seat out so I don't have to step over it going from running the motor to fishing on the front deck. Thought of cutting it down to just above the hull and bracing it on either side with some angle aluminum riveted in place and putting a sheet of sealed ply down with some drainage at the back of that area going back to the bilge area, should any water get splashed over the side.
going o use an old stripped down electric cooler ( Coleman ice-less cooler) I modified for minnows for a livewell till I get that part of the build done. I plan on plumbing in a plastic tote with a freshwater supply, circulation system, including a chill box mod connected. when it's done it will be a nice boat that I can pass down when I can't fish no more....

Have you ever thought of using PVC boards.

No, I just checked the stores around here, Springfield, Mo, and the thinnest available is 3/4 inch. I'm thinking it would be a lot heavier than I could use even at 3/8ths thick, and there's none available with-in 100 miles. No I'll use either 1/2" or 3/8th plywood and seal the devil out of it, and seal the edge where the wood will meet the aluminum hull with marine silicone so water won't be able to get to the foam that will be under it, and be forced to run back and thru the drains to the bilge. I'm not going to the extent of a build as Michael Lopez did on the Falco build he did on TBNation, but along those lines. He's on you tube.

Well I found out today this is going to be a lot slower than I hoped...I was going to use most of the stimulus check to get the first part done and get this in the water...then along comes the Govt. again and tells me...Oh Mr Pierce you ain't getting any...That sucks.

Sorry to hear that, I know you were looking forward to making progress. Done a lot of things slower than I would have liked over the years, you’re not alone.

That bites. Did they say why you wouldn't get a stimulus check? The way I read it, if you made less than $75k per year, you'd get a check for $1,200. Maybe we're not getting anything either. By the way, it's looking good so far.
