Have you looked into the ACC Crappie Stix? Here is a link to the 10 ft but also comes in 12 and I think 8. GS10R

I don't limit myself to rear seaters. I buy what I want and use electrical tape to put the reel wherever I want.

If boat flipping is truly your goal, I have a 10'6" Huckabee Elite and one of my fishing partners has Kevin Rogers Signature Jenko 10' and 11'. While fishing the Crappie USA tournament on Lake Fork we had no trouble swinging fish up to 2.5#.

[QUOTE=warhawk;3971339]Anyone have any experience with that Martin Rolling Fork rod?

I’m mainly interested in a rod that I can swing fish into the boat.[/QUOTE

I have two of the Rolling Fork rods, both fitted with Shimano 500 reels. I could not be happier with the rods. They are extremely sensitive, have plenty of backbone and are very easy on the wrist as they are perfectly balanced with the reel. You can spend more money, but you will not get a finer rod.

I’ve been kind of “overcome by events” for a couple of weeks, I hope this passes soon.

anyway, I think I’m going to order one of these Jenko hyper sense rods from Grizzly Jig. They also have a Kevin Rogers rod that looks good, I may order both of them.

i have a couple of Huckabee 10’ rods that I use with cheap baitcasting reels. They are great rods, but a bit heavy for long days. I see that Grizzly Jig has the Huckabee Dingo rod with a Tennessee handle, that is tempting but I already have WAY too many rods.

the Rolling Fork rod is a fly rod isn’t it? I would assume it has fly rod type guides? Do they cause you any problems?

None whatsoever, but then I use t mainly for tight line jigging over structure. However, it still casts well, maybe not like a true casting rod, but I have caught a lot of crappie straight down and ten yards to the side of brush with that combo I mentioned.
