Default Prayers lifted up for missing fishermen on Pickwick.

A bass boat with 2 members of the Obion County Central High School bass club and the father of one of the boys has been found below Pickwick dam but the occupants have not been located. The boat was having engine trouble at the start of a bass tournament Saturday on Pickwick and didn't leave with the other contestants. My prayers are with the families and those who are searching for them.

I've never fished a tournament before, so I don't know how they work. That said, the tournament was on Saturday, but they weren't reported missing until Sunday night.

Isn't there some kind of "check in" system in place to make sure everybody that launched a boat returned to the dock?

According to what I have read, they had engine trouble and didn't launch when the other tourney boats left. Those in the tourney assumed they left, went home, and didn't fish. No idea why they weren't reported missing when they didn't show up at home that night.

Boat recovered, 2 teens and adult still missing after weekend boating tournament at Pickwick Lake

Yes, all tournaments I've fished, all boats were accounted for at weigh-in. In 1980 at the Georgia BASS Top 6 Tournament on Lake Eufaula, one boat didn't return for the weigh-in. This was long before cell phones so an airplane was sent looking for them. They were found wet but safe on the bank after their brand new bass boat split down the center line in rough water and sunk in 40+ feet of water with their catch and all their gear. The boat was recovered.
