I know they will work,no question there.
They sell from 75 cents to 2 bucks each depending on the seller.
I can tell you it's a tough market to get into.
You have to build value in them. There has to be something about them that set them apart from the other guys.
I do not tie the bigger ones as there are alot of folks that do already.
My thing is getting small for those that like to downsize.

Find your nitch and build a customer base 1 fisherman at a time is my best advice.
Put your best effort foward & it will show in the final product.

    Good luck!

I'm confident they will produce for you, however ....

personally.. i find that stiff hair on jigs gives it a stiff action when jigging.. I like feather because it is fluid in the water and i tend to find on hard days that tiny finess makes or breaks me for that day..

But; I have stiff haired ones in my bag of tricks also and they work at certain times for me as well.

I find the stiff haired jigs move slower in the water which I like. I would never sell a hand made jig for less that $2. Even BPS sell theirs for $2. Nice lookin jigs though. I'd lacquer the thread for durability. I agree with Camo, I could kill both walleyes and crappies here with them, but they would have to be tough.
Good things come to those who bait.

They look good enough for the fish to eat. If it looks like a baitfish or a streamer moving, they'll attack it. As far as pricing, I'd check bait stores in your area for a similar product. Sell yours locally at about 85% of that price. Mail orders about 75% of what Cabela's or Jann's netcraft asks.

Dang Grizz then I guess mine are a steal at .75-.85 for normal jigs huh. Then my very special jigs are $1-1.95 and there is only one that is 1.95 and that is because I have to buy the entire high grade skin just to get the barred feathers. My glow body jigs are not even $2 each as they are $1.50 and take way more time than any hair jig.

I see a lot of hand tied jig for under a buck and if you look at the cheaper made ones on ebay they almost give them away. I can't imagine being able to sell any jigs for that much unless it's for Bass fishing and they will buy things at a higher price. Crappie fishermen are not going to pay $2 a jig?

Oh and one more thing I would put the quality of my jigs up against any had tied jig for value and quality.

First thing you must do is figure up exactly what your cost is per jig, how many of those jigs you can make in an hour. That is your base price to break even on, then decide on how much you think the jigs are worth.

Your jigs look nice, but I never sell a jig that I have not fished with for at least 2-3 months and it has produced consinstently, so find some time to do "research & development."

Tying and selling can be alot of fun, but it can also be much more work than you think. You have a good looking jig and I would hate to see you sell them for peanuts. This is just the opinion of a jig tier.

I really appreciate the comments guys, and that's some great advice as well. I believe I have a trick up my sleeve to help them sell, hopefully in the next week I can get them going good.
Oh, and by the way folks, the way I tie them, and the hair I use, they have great action and aren't stiff. Like I said I was taught by a guy last night who tied jigs and made plugs for a guy who made millions on fishing lures. I've been taught how to do it the way to save money and tie quality jigs that will stay together after being banged on rocks in fast moving water going after striper.

    Also whoever says jigs should be cheap, tell that to Spro;
    http://spro.com/shop/product_info.ph...fc9129e948b675
2 jigs for $5.19+shipping. I can do the exact same thing and I will be beating that price, so if those jigs look good to you, keep me in mind.
