Ive been using a culumbia booney hat a few years now for sightfishing and sun protection. It does its job and has held up well, think I paid 22$ for it.
Columbia cost alot, but the long sleeved fishing shirt matched with the wide brim hat cant be beat for comfort and dependability. They're cool and no sunburned arms or ears.

Actually, I go to a military surplus store and get the desert storm hats. Lightweight, wide brim, deflects sun and camo. I then attach a "Knights of Arabia" type neck scarf either with velcro or just sewing around the neck of the hat.

I need something good myself. I'm the worlds worst about not using anything and getting burned. Maybe I'll learn one day.
I ordered one of these last yr. wide brim long neck flap with a pocket that zips in the back...i just added an ice cube or two when needed..I loved it, but then I let a buddy wear it. He has a mowing service ....guess where it is now? Guess you can say I gave the hat off my head to help a friend!! And yes they show them on females but they arent just for women..
