Main lines at a 15-20deg slant would be Long Line Trolling. (remember, 90deg slant is straight down)
I will admit that I sometimes doubt my lines are at a 45deg angle, and more likely closer to a 30deg angle. But I still use the 45deg angle calculation that I mentioned, because I'd rather be shallower than I think I am than deeper than I think I am.
When I go over a school of fish that my bow mounted DI unit says are 15ft deep, then my transom mounted 2d unit says they're still 15ft deep, I'm pretty sure the boat did not spook them away. So, if my jigs are 20ft back from the rod tips that are 4-10ft away from the side of the boat ... yeah, they may be +/- "under the boat" & running 10-12ft deep, but I still catch them sometimes. But I'm not Spider Rigging if I'm going 0.8mph-1mph ... I'm Pushing (or Power Trolling as you call it). If I were Spider Rigging my speed would not exceed 0.4mph, and likely be from dead still to 0.2mph ... and my rods would be pointing out the front of the boat & not angled away from the bow ... but, that's just me.
