    Default Line....

What kind of line do you use??? I’ve used Mr Crappie Hi-Vis (the bright yellow) and I’m convinced it spokes the fish.... what say you all... also... I’ve used everything from 4# to 10#. Where are you on that?

Ive used hi viz #4 Suffix in water you could see 6ft down in and caught Crappie. They arent line shy in my opinion.

I have to agree, at least on my small creek/stream. I’m using 4# Stren Crappie with no problems, plus I can see the line to tie knots. 3# hi viz coming up real shortly.

I like Berkley Trilene XL in 4lb or Trout Magnet SOS line in 2 or 4lb. My wife likes high viz so I spool hers and our trolling rods with BPS Offshore Angler Tightline in 4 or 6lb.

Can't comment with any clarity as most of what little I catch is by accident.

For casting practice hi-viz is delightful

Hi-viz line for me but the water is never gin clear. They can see a hook and still bite so I think the line I see best is what I will use. But an easy way to have both is use a leader of co=polymer, monofilament or fluorocarbon .

I wouldn't concern myself to much with brand. Mr Crappie is priced good , around here at least, but I do think it's most likely protruded by a major brand. Likely Pure Fishing.
Only so many plants that manufacture fishing line.

I use Vicious Hi Viz. second to none. Other brands kink up like poodle hair. No problem with spooking fish.

I'm a multi species fisherman. Some species are line shy but crappie is not usually so, even in gin clear water. Most of my rods are light walleye or smallie rods but I also use them for crappie. I run hi vis braid on almost everything with a fluorocarbon leader for smallmouth and spots, but straight braid for everything else but bream. I use 4 lb. Trilene XL on my dedicated bream rod.

Not line shy at all. They are more interested in the end of the line.
