I have the handle problem with a lot of reels, Loctite!
I have one 20 size put away for Christmas, but the one I bought last year is reversible. I right hand crank and hold the rod lefty because I’m left handed. Perfect and efficient. You might want to double check that. I have also had the handle loosen up on me, and it most often happens when I back reel. I do like the ability to turn off anti reverse, particularly when fighting a nice smallie. I think those photos of the old and new screws are the answer as to why it happens. I have considered loctite blue, but would like to hear some opinions on that. I still think it is a nice reel for the money.

Reels get a lot of vibration in transport and on the boat. I make a habit of snugging cranks when using, some do loosen up but has never been a big problem - if it was I would use loctite.

I did some searching online for the "old" 6920 model. Walmart doesn't carry it anymore and most others online do not show a listing anymore. However, checking on Grizzly Jig Co. web site, they still have it listed online. I'm going to have to get them a call this week to see if it's still available?
Why do these fishing equipment companies refuse to stick with what works?

Manufacturing cost, marketing, labor cost considering where it's made not much. Why does this reel cost $500 more than this one?

I been using 2 2nd generation Shimano Nexave 2500, gottem cheap off ebay. I got 3 newer Sienna 1000 for vertical jiggin - the bail spring broke on 1 but I still use it. I have over 20 Shimanos - Sedonas etc with no problems.

On thinking about it and doing some reading, back reeling can be a big culprit because in essence doing that moves the handle in the direction to loosen it. Not thinking on my part. I do like to bow to the fish on occasion and back reel to cut off a jump, but if I had the drag set looser I might not have to do that. Not being able to turn off anti reverse for me is a deal breaker when considering a reel, particularly if it was a real high end one. I enjoy the fight more being able to go back and forth with direction. Blue Loctite May be my answer.
