Most people's mentality is if it blows out they don't have to deal with it
I am sorry I blew my top over the refuse . I know for the most part it wont make any difference in the long run because humans are not the best creatures on this planet for the environment .
It just saddens me and frustrates me to know the future is fairly bleak in our current state of disrespect for this planet . None of us are totally innocent and to be sure we all contribute knowingly or not to the demise .

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

Nice catchn......
At Joe Pool Marina they have a long handled net they use on a regular basis to retrieve the trash people throw into the lake. It's a shame that people who enjoy the outdoors and still trash it don't understand the long term consequences of their actions.
I spent a week visiting Hawaii earlier this year. I found it to be a beautiful place where I would enjoying living. But the biggest thing that impressed me about the state was how clean the roads were. You did not see trash along side the road ways the way you do here. The second thing that impressed me was how courteous the drivers were. If you put your turn signal on to change lanes they would slow down to let you in.
Wish their attitude about taking care of their world would become popular here in Texas.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.
the demise of society plays a huge roll in the disrespect you so often see to the environment .
and of course human greed is a factor and that's been around since forever .
gone are the days of leaving only your foot prints

At lakes I clean up trash and the aluminum cans I donate to a special bin that gives the can money to the humane society. Captain Denny approves!

Our local lake has a yearly or every other year, lake cleanup day. Even worse for our lake, we have a highway and an interstate that cross it, another highway that crosses a major feeder Creek.
In four hours of cleanup, with four boats and 2-3 people in each boat, and others walking the bank, we'll easily fill a big dumpster. That's only covering half the lake.
Last year I found a bong, along the interstate.
The black eye for the local Fisherman - out of all the volunteers, only one is dedicated too fishing. The others are mainly duck hunters.
All of the parking spots in the park have trash cans by them. Which means you walk by a trash can to go fishing. Yet, people leave their trash where they where sitting.
Years ago I was stationed in Germany. The only time you saw trash along the roads, was when you were getting close to an American base.
