Default Thinking about a 3lb hunt road trip

Thinking of a road trip looking for those big fish I keep seeing posted all over . Thinking maybe starting in Oklahoma , Texas and Southwest Arkansas . Any suggestions for dates and lakes if you were hunting a 3 lb plus fish ?

I hunt for that next 3lber every trip.... I've been seeing some BIG OLE SLABS coming out of LOP and I'd for sure not overlook Fork because it for sure has'um....
    Good Luck.....
If'n you get to the lower parts of Texas give me a holler, my little lakes down here don't give up a bunch of 3lb fish but consistently gives up healthy 1.5 to 2.5lb fish.....

Can't ask for more than that. Don't throw paddles at me when i come over there with my livescope. Thinking about a 3lb hunt road trip Lake Houston is the closest lake for me when I'm home. Everything else is hours!!! The price of living on the coast.

Lake fork, lake O the pines. Gotta make those two. I've done very well at both. I fished LOP for 2 days and caught 3 giants. All right at 2.5 lbs measuring around 15 1/2" to 16 1/4". I was stunned. I've never caught that many 2lb plus fish in one trip. But also that lake is being hammered . Lots of boats.

I’d go to LOP the first warm spell in March.
Another lake with fat health fish that people don’t talk much about is Wright Patman south of LOP. Any oxbow lake in the delta has the potential for above average fish.

I know a spot way west of ft worth that for sure has some 3 lb fish ,but its a small lake and I hardly get to visit it .
long drive but to be sure the average fish there in early spring are just ridiculous large .
if I really wanted to ketch fish over three on public waters fork or lop here in Texas maybe ….
but Mississippi produces fish in the 3 range lots more often than Texas from what I hear and see .
I think you might find a fish over 3 close to home from what I have seen in the past .
find you a less traveled path and a small lake that don't get run over much
lots of water over there and sloughs ….my 2 cents
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
