If you want it and can comfortably afford it, then by all means, get it. We all place different values on “ stuff”.
Well said! I caught just as many fish out of my flat bottom with a 25 on it as i have with my bought new 38k dollar shallowsport with a 150 on it that is paid off. Did i need this boat? Nope. Did i want this boat? Yep. Can i justify it? Yep. I could afford it, i wanted it, and its 100 times more comfortable.
Not everyone can afford things they want and they have to make do. I DID!! for most of my life. There are still MANY things i would LIKE to have but i can't afford them. It all comes down to this. If you can do it comfortably, do it. I wanted a new boat my entire life but just couldn't afford it. I worked hard, i planned, i sacrificed and as much as i fish, i wanted a new boat. I made it happen. Livescope is Expensive and not everybody has 3k laying around and that's ok. But those of us who do sure seem to get beat up alot for it.
If you're like me and always wondered what really goes on under the surface?.........
Livescope is the motion picture fir that movie. Watching the bass torpedo schools of shad is something to be seen, and watching a giant bluecat come cruising through the movie screen. Wow!!!

After 36 years in the military and at 100% disability (the two new knees and two new hips pushed me up to 100) I will spend my money on whatever I enjoy doing. Crappie fishing is my choice and putting 65 years of experience ( since I was 7) along with LiveScope I can catch my elusive prey more often than not. I too have been amazed at crappie feeding habits that I would never have known without LiveScope. I hope they double the cost.

Thanks for your 36 years of service and I'm sincerely glad you can afford livescope. I can't afford livescope especially if the cost doubles.
I come from the tech world and the trend for technology is to go smaller, faster, and cheaper. In a couple of years or even sooner, Livescope would be considered obsolete tech and be replaced by something else. I can picture a time where you can tag a crappie & sync a fishing drone to that crappie. Where that crappie goes, the fishing drone will follow. The drone can be programmed to collect all types of data: water temperature, oxygen level, depth, distance, etc. while giving you a bird's eye view of that crappie. The fishing drone can be used in a "seek and destroy" operation. You tell the drone the species your targeting, drop 1 or 100 drones into the water and it will notify you once the elusive preys are detected. If you pay for the upgraded model, the drone can be programmed to actually catch the fish and bring it back to you. Hands free fishing..no rod, reel, or boat required. With the advancement in artificial intelligence and robotics, we actually have the tech to implement this type of technology. Amazon is looking/testing to use aerial drones to drop off packages. The military use drones to gather intelligence and drop missiles. Fishing drones are not that far behind.
I appreciate technology but hopefully fishing drones will never be allowed.
