I appreciate that I'm new here, an outsider, but a fisherman nonetheless. Please do not close threads regarding cheating in tournaments. I have no desire to throw rocks, and I'm in the group that forgives the person...but that does not mean that deeds goes unpunished. As an outsider, my perception is that both the person and the deed received a pass. The act of shutting the conversation down supports that position. I have been considering becoming involved in this sport but the details surrounding this event have made me reconsider. If the conversation is stopped, how can anything positive be gleaned?

If I'm beating a dead horse, please tell me what positive changes have been made because of these events. What did I miss?
The topic was discussed and argued on different posts with varying opinions. It was moderators decision to end as the discussions had repetitive opinions and was going nowhere and leading to arguing and was time to talk about good fishing fun and learning instead.

Maybe a possible thread that would stay positive and give information that you want would be . What can be done to prevent cheating in fishing tournaments.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I am going to leave this thread up for while but....if you really want to know any details about it like what happened...what was done about it...or what changes are going to be made etc. Why not go tho the Crappie USA website and contact the tournament officials and ask your questions and make your comments. Yep, I could not have said it better. Just trying to focus on the good here on crappie.com and not wanting to drag people into the dirt. We certainly do not promote cheating, it goes against everything "family friendly" for sure. Let's leave the thread open for a while, but we're going to close it too if it starts to go south. When you get to thinking about it the only thing that can stop cheating is integrity. All launching at one ramp will not prevent it. Run the boat across to a different ramp load up on a second truck and trailer. Fish the lake of your choice before tournament. Keep fish in live trap in that lake. Have someone bring the fish to you on the tournament lake.

These comments on how to stop cheating should be made to the folks that own and run the tournament series.....just saying
