Charlie i installed one today,on a fiberglass boat though.I think it would work on some alum. hulls without a problem.

That's why I love the keep protector that Excel welds onto all their Bay boats. It's similar to an ice breaker like Cray mentioned. I bought a Keel_Guard for my Bay Pro 203 and it would not work over the keel protector. My boat gets pulled up onto concrete ramps nearly every time it's launched but that welded strip of angle aluminum does it's job.
