I do believe different colors are seen better in certain conditions. Such as darker colors in stained water
I feel they are important and change till I have a strong bite.
Do you think it's important to change colors and what process do you use to determine what colors to use?
I talk about it a bit in this vid.....

I was just listening to our local weather man explain that fall colors up here are displayed differently in sun and in cloudy conditions. They are actually more vibrant when it's dull & cloudy, than when it's sunny outside. No reason not to believe that color "attractiveness" is equally influenced below the surface of the water, by the water color itself and the weather conditions for the day.
I have two tackle bags stuffed with various plastics in just about every color made. I enjoy switching them out, especially when the "bite is on", in order to give me confidence in those colors that I think I'll never really use. Loads of fun to see that "extreme" color work so well sometimes!

I have always thought jig size and presentation were the important factors, with the smaller the better most times. But after fishing with SK I am slowly coming around to the concept that color also plans a role in the catching.

Without a doubt, I've seen a color work only when the sun was out, if a cloud covered the sun I wouldn't get a bite then add soon add the cloud cleared the sun the bite was back on.... This is all within a few minutes......
I will have to say that in murky waters I won't only use a dark bait, white/chart is one of the 1st I'll pull out and sometimes yellow does great in murky and strained water....
Had the color lesson pounded into me yesterday while fishing with a friend. He has had good success lately with an off color green grub that he shortened on a 1/16th jig head. Unfortunately for me that was almost all they would hit yesterday. I didn't have anything near that color and that was the only one he had left. He kept worrying that he would lose it to the brush since he had already lost one. Unfortunately he can't replace it as he had found two of them in the bottom of his tackle box and did not know the name nor where he could replace them.
I tried a variety of colors, styles and jig sizes and only picked up a couple while he was reeling in one after another with that off color green plastic grub.

There are days where you can drop any color and get bit bit more times than not that right color is required....
There's been tons of excuses made up why the crappie didn't bite well my thinking is the work wasn't put in to find the color the fish wanted....
