Red hook only

I try to have a little red in most of my hand ties.

I caught a crappie on a bare tru turn red hook last year.I was baiting rods up with minnows and one of the rods that i didnt put bait on yet started going and there it was.I dont know for sure if it was the red color that did it,but it impressed me enough that i bought a bunch more of those hooks.

I also ALWAYS HAVE a little red somewhere when I am fishing. It might be a red bead, a red eye on the jig, or a red hook because I think that the fish think that it looks like blood and the lure is injured. I also ALWAYS HAVE some Chartreuse somewhere on the lure just because it is a proven color to catch Crappie.
