Soft plastics sliding down the jig hook? Take a gander at this idea:



For size, line up the wire so one end is near the hook bend:


Wrap around the line tie post once and clip close with wire cutters nail clippers or scissors:


Bend the remaining wire and clip short - just enough for the lure's width:


Put lure on the hook and swing the L into place:


Fish are never bothered by the wire or for that matter treble hooks or Beetle Spin wire.

Here's an original idea to make a mini grub stick that catches fish big time!
Cut the curl tails off two 1" or 2" grubs. Cut one segment off each for joining.




Light a candle and briefly hold each end over the flame for few seconds until the end looks melted. The joint is solid:




Rig the regular way or wacky rig with a jig head. Both ways catch booko fish! The first rig I retrieve with reel handle pauses and rod tip twitches; the wacky rig can be used allowing the jig to drop to the bottom or to mid depth - twitching and pausing.

Note: the candle flame method can also be used to shorten a plastic lure (worm) or make hybrid lures from two different lures:
This Slider Worm was shortened from 5" to 3"


Crappie Magnet Grubs were increased in length and given larger bodies:


Took these craw claws and attached them to a grub body. A dynamite bait!!

One more:
Some lakes don't have boat trailer launches and this method allow a quick on/off attachment of the transducer to the stern.
Take a door wreath holder:

Cut a piece off, attach to a board and bend as shown:


At the other end attach a cross piece of wood that is wider for the transducer bracket:


Secure the wire with wire ties, gang off the stern and clamp:


Easy on and off!

This method allows me to use whatever trolling motor I want (32# or 55# thrust) without having to attach the transducer to the motor as well has preventing weed interference when wrapped around the trolling motor.

Funny you should mention that. Some time back I was reading about water problem's and it was said that some restaurant bathroom's. Were found to have better water than the restaurant itself. Kind of make ya want to start drinking out of the toilet!
