Did they spray the lake for weeds?
I walked around some docks this morning for Frog fishing. At one dock with sandy beach type, I saw a lot of small dead crappies floating around and even more (bigger ones) on the bottom of the lake. Also, the ones that swim don’t look healthy either. Is this a norm, btw I’m in South California so it is getting hot and water temp over 70 now.

The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

Decaying Vegetation eats up the Oxygen .. it could have even been sprayed several weeks ago, Or overflow from septic tank
Nope not that I’m aware off, but I’ll check. We use alum treatment, I think last time was 3 months ago but it didn’t work well enough.
Never mind just found out they stock new crappies, bluegill and bass yesterday. I don’t know why.
interesting as to why nothing is eating the dead fish ? yawl got turtles and or catfish out that way ?

They stocked the lake the day before at this same locations. That why I didn’t know and only saw dead fish at this park.
I’m not sure seem like, HOA doesn’t do a good job and spent money on some unnecessary things. They claimed from study they need to rehabilitate of all the fish including bass. I guess the guys that study don’t know how to catch bass or might be those guys from bass club that want more bass in the lake and add crappies/bluegill as bait. We used to have a lot of DD bass in the lake but recently only a few show up here and there. I still see plenty of shad around but if the keep adding top predators, I’m not sure how ecosystems gonna be. I might have to start harvest those crappies and bluegill and Bass included.
